The Guadalupe is a very unique Texas river. The cold water released above from Canyon Lake combined with tremendous fish habitat makes for a Texas trout fishing dream. Regular stockings of rainbow trout by Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited and Texas Parks and Wildlife keep the river full of hungry 'bows' all winter long. Consistent trout fishing can be found from November through April, though they can be found year round. Several other exciting species can be chased including the Guadalupe bass. Traditional trout fishing techniques prove effective with fish in the 18-22" range landed regularly. Cypress roots and towering limestone cliff walls line the banks of the river making for scenic views to compliment great fishing opportunities. Trophy Texas trout fishing at its finest! Now is the time to get your piece of the action, call today for avaliability and current reports.

Colorado River
Conveniently located right outside of Austin, the Colorado River offers some of the best trophy bass fly fishing Texas has. Target species are Largemouth and Guadalupe bass, but many other species including big catfish are caught frequently on a fly. Warm days in winter can be good, but prime time is spring, early summer and fall. When the Colorado is fishing well, as it frequently is, fly fishers can have 20-40+ fish days with chances at monster largemouths (5-10lbs). Most of the floats we offer on the Colorado remain within an hour drive of Austin, Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake) is also an option for some fishing in the city limits. Surface flies can be very productive, with clear water you can watch bass materialize from the depths with bad intentions for our flies. Low fishing and recreation traffic leave the river to just us most days. Fishing pressure is also low for its location, leaving bass that routinely behave the way ambush predators are supposed to. Call or email to ask about float trips on the Colorado.

San Marcos River

A favorite among guides and locals for great hill country fly fishing. Deep cut banks and constant insulated spring water keep the San Marcos River fishable year round. Smallmouth bass are very available in moving water while the largemouths hide underneath lily pads, grass beds and brush piles waiting to ambush a well presented fly. Other catchable species include Guadalupe bass, Rio Grande cichlids and several species of sunfish, garr and carp. Old growth Cypress trees create perfect structure on the banks and give us shade for those hot summer days. A hill country gem that seems made for fly fishing between San Antonio and Austin. Floatable from the city of San Marcos through Martindale and Caldwell county leaves lots of water and fish for all of us. Guided float trips availiable year round. Known for producing well above average size fish, good chances at trophy bass happen often. This is a place to see!
